What is the Normalization Method in JEE Main 2023?
When an exam like JEE Main 2023 is given in two sessions, normalization is used to balance out the exam's degree of difficulty. Therefore, NTA will announce the JEE Main 2023 percentile that was acquired after JEE Main normalization. JEE Main Percentile scores, which are typically calculated on a scale of 100 to 0 for each session of students, show the percentage of applicants that scored the same as or lower (same or lower raw scores) than that specific percentile in that examination. As a result, each JEE Main 2023 session's highest scoring will ultimately get a percentile of 100, which is ideal.
As part of the JEE Mains marking methodology, NTA will sum the students' raw marks and normalize them to derive the percentile scores for each of the three subjects—Maths, Physics, and Chemistry as well as the overall. It is desired that the top score in each JEE Main 2023 session would have a percentile of 100. Additionally, the scores between the top and lowest will be transformed into percentiles. The merit lists will be created using this percentile score. It should be noted that the percentile scores will be calculated with up to 7 decimal places in order to minimize bunching and tie-breaking amongst candidates who have identical scores.
The JEE Main Percentile 2023 will be calculated as per the given formulae.
